About You

The space I create is about you and your needs, so lets explore my typical client to see if you relate. I see a diverse range of clients, from various backgrounds and identities, who come to me for a broad range of issues. My clients are individualistic in how they want to address their concerns and their reasoning for coming to me for support. However, they all have some things in common. First, they are engaged and enjoy a collaborative experience. My work is relational and I see the most progress in my clients when we are working together to address their therapeutic goals. The more I get to know you, the better I can help you identify unhelpful patterns, develop coping strategies, and create change. Second, my clients often struggle with transitions in life, whether it be parenthood, relationships or work. We work together to explore how these transitions impact their relationship with themselves and others. Lastly, my clients are open to being challenged and also challenge me in our sessions. This means that when I bring something to a client’s attention, it is open for discussion. We are always working together to address concerns, create balance, and highlighting connections to self and others.

About Me

Welcome! I’m Alison - a licensed therapist working virtually with clients in Pennsylvania and New York. I am passionate about my work in the mental health field and love to delve into all things psychology. I received my BA in Psychology and my MA in Mental Health Counseling. I feel grateful everyday that my job is to support my clients and learn more and more about the mental health field. I have completed trainings in CBT, psychoanalytic theory, gestalt therapy, and ACT therapy, and received more extensive training in perinatal mood disorders, EFT, and Sex Therapy. When I am not working, you can find me reading through the many psychology books on my nightstand, taking walks through park with my pug, or doing yet another DIY home project.
  • Through the Postpartum Support International, I have completed the training to work with anyone living through the perinatal period. To learn more about PSI and receive additional resources click here!

  • I’ve completed Introduction to Sex Therapy training at the Ackerman Institute. I continue to expand my training in sex therapy and am working towards accreditation as a sex therapist through AASECT.

  • To quickly summarize, Emotionally Focused Therapy is an approach in therapy that encourages individuals to focus on and understand their emotions and use this to strengthen their connection to others and themselves. To learn more about EFT, click here!

  • I have committed to receiving supervision, both individually and in group settings, to ensure that I am being thorough in my work. Receiving supervision allows me to hear another perspective and make sure I am offering you the best support in reaching your therapeutic goals. Of course, I keep all names and identifying details confidential and only receive supervision from other licensed therapists.
